There is another good Internet site - www.multitran.ru. There you can't translate sentences, but any words. Another site - www.translate.ru. But the translation at this site, like at google, really sucks))) Better to translate unknown words and make sentences by your own.

Multitran is much better, because there you can choose different sections, for example, cosmonautics or technics, banks etc. There are a lot of different meanings of words and also of small phrases. But this site sometimes works very slow...( And sometimes doesn't work at all

In "lingvo" you can also choose different sections, there are various dictionaries.
but, in fact, i don't use it, because I need often in general translation of the word.

Ou you have meant lingo dictionary, which you can install on your computer, then you are absolutely right. On the first place - ABBYY Lingvo. If we speak about Internet sites, then I think multitran is on the first place.

Boobs, here we have an excellent chance to improve it- as much as possible ) I feel confused when correcting smb's mistakes, if you don't like it- just tell me and I stop correcting. As for you, you seldom make mistakes, even when make- just because of carelessness; all in all, it's really great!

works very slowly slowly here is adverb, refers to the predicate
guys, i have never used these translation sites, thank you a lot for the hints.Soon i may need them at work (IF I succeed in getting a new job), especially when need specific words and expressions

Only words and small combinations of words) This site is really helpful for me, because i translate texts, concerned with space industry. And many words are absent in Lingvo dictionary, but exist in multitran.

What news about your classes? Do you tell texts about space or do you need them at work?

I need these texts only at work. I study grammar and practice speech during my classes, but don't touch space vocabulary, because my teacher hasnt' ever worked with texts concerning space and doesn't know space terms, especially those, which are used at my enterprise. You know, different engineers and scientists, even in one country and even (!!!) at one enterprise (and, of course, in different countries) sometimes use different foreign terms for one word, because there is no common dictionary for space terms. So occasionally it's difficult to translate texts, becuase you are not sure about which term to use... So you have to seek a phone number of man, who wrote this text and ask him to help you with translating different terms.

Wow, so you work at such an enterprise, where you deal with space! Cool! This is the subject, or-better,topic- that takes my breath away!
As for terms- yeah, i quite agree with you, different countries, companies use different versions for the same wors, i have dealt with this big problem for many times during my work. Even within the same cointry different specialists or companies use the same phrase/word differently, which causes a lot of problems: if you happen not to realise or guess its real meaning, it can end up in a big failure...now you see, what a hard job it is to be an interpreter- yet, i DO love it!
Boobs, so now i know what sort of job you have got...if it is not so hard, could you please briefly describe, what you usually do? Just wonder, 'cause i am really interested in space.
