I need these texts only at work. I study grammar and practice speech during my classes, but don't touch space vocabulary, because my teacher hasnt' ever worked with texts concerning space and doesn't know space terms, especially those, which are used at my enterprise. You know, different engineers and scientists, even in one country and even (!!!) at one enterprise (and, of course, in different countries) sometimes use different foreign terms for one word, because there is no common dictionary for space terms. So occasionally it's difficult to translate texts, becuase you are not sure about which term to use... So you have to seek a phone number of man, who wrote this text and ask him to help you with translating different terms.
Boobs, where you work? NASA!?
Wow, so you work at such an enterprise, where you deal with space! Cool! This is the subject, or-better,topic- that takes my breath away!
As for terms- yeah, i quite agree with you, different countries, companies use different versions for the same wors, i have dealt with this big problem for many times during my work. Even within the same cointry different specialists or companies use the same phrase/word differently, which causes a lot of problems: if you happen not to realise or guess its real meaning, it can end up in a big failure...now you see, what a hard job it is to be an interpreter- yet, i DO love it!
Boobs, so now i know what sort of job you have got...if it is not so hard, could you please briefly describe, what you usually do? Just wonder, 'cause i am really interested in space.
P. S. Boobs, really great your English is, you speak like a native speaker, it's so nice! I really enjoy!
kotlomoy, you promised to tell about your work too! According to your photos, you starred in some film, didn't you? You see, i am very curious
Oh, thanks Alina))) You are confusing me
My occupation is called simply - engineer))) But my responsibilities have no coincidences with that profession I usually translate different technical texts, letters, faxes, rarely contacts and all of them concerning space. From English into Russian and vice versa. I'm responsible for sending all emails abroad. It can be done only from my computer at our enterprise. Two times i was an interpreter... The first time with Indians (it's was awful, their pronunciation leaves much to be desired), the second time with Germans (it was better, but also very difficult). I didn't study as an interpreter in my institute) Therefore I have a lot of problems with oral translation and now attend classes...
Boobs, are you not tired of English at work?

Nah, Boobs, i say what i see, you have really made a great progress, so that you can work at any company- just need time to get used to special terms, because at a new place the demands are different and terms, too.
Well, yes, not all foreigners speak English so well as we expect them to do.
The Germans, of course, are much better, than the Indians.I myself work with the italians and their pronunciation isn't good either- as well as their Grammar...they always ask me to correct and all the documentation, too
As for oral translations: all have problems, if they have no experience. At first i also felt confused, i thought i know NOTHING, i thought i wouldn't be able to find the proper words, but as time goes by , you see that experience fixes everything. You just need to talk to foreigners- that's all
P. S. you have to use the aticle the before Indians and Germans, when you mean the nation, otherwise it will sound like an adjective-индийский, немецкий
